    Mount Tavan Bogd is in the West Altai mountain chain. Altai is one of the three main mountain ranges of Mongolia. Tavan Bogd is the nighest mountain in Mongolia with its 4374 meters high peak " Khuiten." It is permanently covered with glaciers and snow. This mountain area is designated in Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. Unlike the rest of Mongolia many Kazakh people live in this area . This area is blessed with mountains scenic beauty, rich nature and interesting culture. 

In far Western Mongolia lie the Altai Mountains the habitat of lynx, Argali sheep, and the Elusive Snow leopard. In the remotest corner are the highest peaks , the Tavan Bogd range and Mongolia's longest glacier the Potanii Glacier which stretches 19km. Altai Tavan Bogd mountain consists of 5 peaks , such as "Khuiten" (4374m), Nairamdal ( 4202m),Narlag(4200) , Olgii ( 4100) and Malchin (3890) . On this trip you will climb the highest peak of Mongolia "Khuiten" (4374m , 14,350ft) and Malchin peak ( 3890m), which marks the intersection Russian , Chinese and Mongolian borders.  

Tour itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive in Ulaanbaatar.

Day 2: Flight to Olgii city

Day 3: Drive to Base camp

Day 4: Hike to the Tavan Bogd glacier and establish the base camp.

Day 5: Climb Khuiten peak and non technical Malchin peak. From the summit you will get a spectacular views into China, Russia and Mongolia.

Day 6: Visit to Kazakh families living in the countryside.

Day 7: Heading to Olgii.

Day 8: Drive further to Olgii.

Day 9: Flight to Ulaanbaatar.

Day 10: Departure

Activity : We will travel approximately 200км on dirt road and 350 км on paved road. Activities such as trekking, horse riding or camel riding, sightseeing, and cultural visits are included.

Tour detail:

Day 1: Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to hotel.

Day 2: Flight to Olgii city, the center of Bayanolgii province .

Overnight stay in tent .

Day 3: Drive to Base camp. Overnight in tent on the way to Base camp

Day 4: Hike to the Tavan Bogd glacier and establish the base camp. Mongolian ponies will be used to port gear. A ger , Mongolian national dwelling will be set up for cooking and dinning. 

Overnight stay in tent .

Day 5: Climb Khuiten peak and non technical Malchin peak. From the summit you will get a spectacular views into China, Russia and Mongolia.

Overnight in tent .

Day 6: After completing climbs return to base camp. Overnight in tent. Visit to Kazakh families living in the countryside. Enjoy their hospitality and experience different culture and customs.

Day 7: Heading to Olgii.

  • Tourist Ger Camps: The camp is made up of several Gers, furnished with 2-3 beds, a stove and other traditional furniture, and has all modern facilities, including washing blocks with western style toilets and shower rooms, laundry places, restaurant and shopping facilities.   • Tents:  We use tents of Ferrino brand that are easy to put up and take down and most importantly, perfectly suit Mongolia’s extreme weather condition.

  • Meals: A group made up of more than three people will be provided with a professional chef who will be serving a wide variety of Asian, European and Mongolian dishes throughout the trip. You will be served breakfast, lunch accompanied with salad and snack, and hot meal for dinner carefully prepared to suitable the weather and condition in the trip field.

  • Transportation: We choose the transportation from 4×4 Russian vehicles, 4×4 Japanese or Korean vehicles and modern buses. The most suitable transportation for countryside travels is, in most cases, Russian vans. Baggage is sometimes carried on horse, camel and yak carts in relevance to the trip type.
