Itinerary:

Day 1 : Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. City tour

Day 2: Drive to Hotont via Kharakhorum

Day 3: Set off for Chuluut via Tsetserleg city.

Day 4-13: Trekking days in the Khangai Region.

Day 14: Try to horse riding and set off for Khorgo.

Day 15: Set off for Tsenkher river via Tsetserleg city.

Day 16: Visit to Kharkorin monastery continue to Bayangobi.

Day 17: Travel to Khustai national park.

Day 18: Arrive in Ulaanbaatar.

Day 19: Departure

Activity : We will travel approximately 200 км on dirt and 350 km on paved road. We will walk for 4-5 hours each day. Other activities such as 4*4, trekking, horse riding sightseeing, and cultural visits are included.

Day 1: An introductory city tour through Ulaanbaatar, where we will visit sites such as Gandan-tegchilen monastery, National Museum of Mongolia where you will learn about the history of Mongolia, and other sites such as Zanabazar fine arts museum will allow you to see the culture of Mongolia.

Day 2: Drive towards Khotontsoum in the morning. On our way, we will see stones and statues from the Turkic period. During the drive, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mongolia, with white gers along the grass and livestock grazing freely.

Day 3: Drive to Tsetserleg city and buy grocery. Tsetserleg city, a beautiful small town on the slope of Bulgan Mountain, was established in 1631 by the name ZayiinKhuree. In the afternoon, we will start our trek and arrive at Chuluut canyon. We will set up our tents next to Chuluut River.

Day 4: We will drive through the mountain passages and arrive at our camp site. In the evening, we will meet up horses and local guides. They will provide us with riding horses as well as horse carts to put our baggage on.

Days 5,6: Trek through the valleys and mountainous areas. We will pass many lakes and rivers. Many migratory birds rest at lakes in Central Mongolia.

Day 7: Walk past the small lakes and into a worshipped forest. In the forest, you will hear many small bird and woodpeckers, so make sure you keep your eyes and ears open. We will eat lunch by the lake and continue until we reach our campsite.

Days 8, 9: We will meet local nomadic families. You will have a chance to see how dairy products are made in Mongolia; you may even participate in making some of the products as well. You will taste traditional milk tea, airag as well as aaruul and Mongolian cheese. Then we will head towards Olgoi Lake.

Days 10, 11: Continue trekking along the steppe. We will meet yak herders. Mongolia has cattle population of 3.1 million, of which 610 100 are yak. You will taste dairy products made from yak milk.

Days 12, 13: Hike to UlaanMandar Mountain which is 2950 m above sea level. From there we can fully appreciate the natural landscapes and habitats. You will be able to see Tsagaan Lake.

Day 14: We have time to ride horses before we return them to their owners. We will climb to Khorgo crater. Khorgo crater was created by the eruption of Khorgo volcano. There are trees and other vegetation growing around the crater, and at the top of the crater, you will be able to see the surrounding area. We will visit local families.

Day 15: Early in the morning, we will drive towards Tsetserleg city. On our way, you will be able to see Chuluut canyon which is 90 km long through which Chuluut River flows. We will drive past Tsetserleg city and camp near a river.

Day 16: In the morning, we will go to Kharkhorin city, which was the capital of the Great Mongolian Empire built by ChinggisKhaan. Here we will visit Erdenezuu monastery, the first and biggest Buddhist temple built in Mongolia, on top of the ruins of Kharkhorin.

Day 17: We will visit KhustaiNuruu national park, famous for its Przewalskii’s wild horse reintroduction program started in early 1990s. There are about 250 wild horses now, as well as 46 species of mammals including Red deer, Wild bear, Eurasian lynx, and 148 species of birds such as Demoiselle crane, Cinereous vulture and Black stork.

Day 18: In the afternoon, we will arrive at Ulaanbaatar city. In the evening, we will see a Mongolian cultural concert with contortion artists, throat singers, national long songs and dances.

  • Tourist Ger Camps: The camp is made up of several Gers, furnished with 2-3 beds, a stove and other traditional furniture, and has all modern facilities, including washing blocks with western style toilets and shower rooms, laundry places, restaurant and shopping facilities.   • Tents: We use tents of Ferrino brand that are easy to put up and take down and most importantly, perfectly suit Mongolia’s extreme weather condition.

  • Meals: A group made up of more than three people will be provided with a professional chef who will be serving a wide variety of Asian, European and Mongolian dishes throughout the trip. You will be served breakfast, lunch accompanied with salad and snack, and hot meal for dinner carefully prepared to suitable the weather and condition in the trip field.

  • Transportation: We choose the transportation from 4×4 Russian vehicles, 4×4 Japanese or Korean vehicles and modern buses. The most suitable transportation for countryside travels is, in most cases, Russian vans. Baggage is sometimes carried on horse, camel and yak carts in relevance to the trip type.
