Tour itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Ulaanbaatar.Overnight in a hotel.

Day 2: Fly to Murun.Drive to Khuvsgullake

Day 3: Ice festival

Day 4: Skating marathon and other competition

Day 5: Return to Ulaanbaatar by plane

Day 6: Eagle festival

Day 7: Fly to Southgobi, drive to Bulgansoum

Day 8: Camel festival

Day 9: Fly to Ulaanbaatar.free time

Day 10: Departure

Activity : Travel approximately 200 km on dirt road and 350 km on paved road by 4×4 vehicle. On days of hiking, we will walk approximately 4-6 hours. Other activities include trekking, horse riding or camel riding, sightseeing, cultural visits and meeting eagle men.

Tour detail

Day 1: Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. City tour including Gandan monastery and Natural history museum.Ganden monastery is the center of Buddhist religion where Buddhist Mongolians come to pray and consult doctor monks or astrologers. The Museum of Natural History is famous for its exhibits from Jurassic period, such as dinosaur bones and fossil eggs.

Ovenight in a hotel**

Day 2: Fly to Murun, the center of Khuvsgul province. Travel to Khatgal, a small village located on the shore of Khuvsgul lake, by 4×4 Russian jeep. See a shaman’s offering rituals for Khuvsgullake. There will be a horse carriage competition. You will have an opportunity to travel by a horse and a dog carriage.

Day 3: Attend the opening ceremony of Ice Festival, see competitions such as Ice Creation, Sumo Wrestling on ice, Ankle Bone Shooting, and watch the Shaman Ceremony and the National Folklore Concert. After lunch, visit HoridolSaridag Mountain to visit a reindeer herder family and explore their tradition and nomadic lifestyle.

Day 4: Skating marathon, driving skills competition will take place on the ice of Khuvsgullake. Different activities will be available during the ice festival.

Day 5 : Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. Enjoy free time.

Day 6: Watch the opening ceremony of the Eagle hunting festival. See various contests and competitions.

Day 7: Arrive in Dalanzadgad, the center of South Gobi province. Watch the opening ceremony of the Camel festival and see various events, including a contest to select the most beautiful couple riding most beautiful camels, “Camel polo” competition. You can make purchases ranging from camel wool products to dairy products. Overnight in nomadic family. (B+L+D)

Day 8: You will see camel race and other entertaining activities on this day. We will have a chance to visit a local nomad family.

Day 9: Fly back to Ulaanbaatar. Enjoy free time.

  • Tourist Ger Camps: The camp is made up of several Gers, furnished with 2-3 beds, a stove and other traditional furniture, and has all modern facilities, including washing blocks with western style toilets and shower rooms, laundry places, restaurant and shopping facilities. As there is no heating system in the Gers, the stoves are used for heating.Click here to see information of hotel
  • Tents: We use tents of Ferrino brand that are easy to put up and take down and most importantly, perfectly suit Mongolia’s extreme weather condition.

  • Meals: A group made up of more than three people will be provided with a professional chef who will be serving a wide variety of Asian, European and Mongolian dishes throughout the trip. You will be served breakfast, lunch accompanied with salad and snack, and hot meal for dinner carefully prepared to suitable the weather and condition in the trip field.

  • Transportation: We choose the transportation from 4×4 Russian vehicles, 4×4 Japanese or Korean vehicles and modern buses. The most suitable transportation for countryside travels is, in most cases, Russian vans. Baggage is sometimes carried on horse, camel and yak carts in relevance to the trip type.
